Dice & Chess

What if—chess IS dice!? 

• In Chess & Dice, pieces will transform into each other after every movement, depending on the number on top of the die (1-pawn, 2-knight, 3-bishop, 4-rook, 5-queen, 6-king). Try to defeat your opponent by smashing their King(s) / their 6(s)! 
• Well… and do mind your own King. You won’t like it when your only King is transformed to a Bishop—that is technically a suicide.

 (Phase I) Placement

• You will be given 5 dice randomly, which you will place on the row nearest to you.
• Your battle starts already when you are placing your pieces! Think about your next moves and try not to put your King in the reach of your opponent’s Queen!

(Phase II) Battle

• You take turns to move your pieces, and the rules are the same as that in Chess. 
• When your pieces move, they start to roll themselves to the destination (like a normal dice does). They will stop after reaching their destination and transform themselves into the chess piece represented by the current number on the dice, which depends on how many steps they move. 
• When the opponent has no King on the chessboard, you win!
• Again,  if you have only one King on your board and it transforms to another piece, it is suicide.
